Introduction to machining pipes:

Machinery pipes can also be called thick-walled seamless pipes. Machine processing pipes can be divided into large-diameter seamless pipes and small-diameter seamless pipes, seamless steel pipes for transportation; seamless steel pipes for boilers; high-pressure seamless steel pipes for boilers; high-pressure seamless steel pipes for fertilizer equipment; seamless steel pipes for geological brick exploration; seamless steel pipes for petroleum brick exploration; seamless steel pipes for petroleum cracking; seamless steel pipes for ships; cold-drawn and cold-rolled precision seamless steel pipes; various alloy pipes.

The method of expressing machining pipes is outer diameter and wall thickness. Thick-walled seamless steel pipes are mainly used for mechanical processing, coal mines, hydraulic steel and other purposes. The materials of thick-walled seamless steel pipes are divided into 10#, 20#, 35#, 45#, 16Mn, 27SiMn, 12Cr1MoV, 10CrMo910, 15CrMo, 35CrMo, etc.

ASTM A312, ASTM A790, ASME SA213, ASME SA249, ASME SA789; etc.


Analysis of precautions for machining parts of seamless steel pipes


Choose a suitable lathe: It is necessary to choose a suitable lathe to process seamless steel pipes. It is generally recommended to choose a plate lathe. Because when using rolling bearings, a counterattack force and vibration will be formed between the ball wheel and the ball, affecting the processing quality. The plate lathe uses a sliding guide rail to eliminate this interference and ensure processing accuracy.


Control the feed speed of the turning tool: When processing seamless steel pipes, the feed speed of the turning tool should be controlled according to different processing contents. In general, the turning tool needs to be replaced and internal coolant should be used to keep it cool.


Adjust the lathe support: When processing seamless steel pipes, the support of the lathe needs to be adjusted to a suitable height to maintain stability during the processing process.


Maintain the finish of the processing surface: When processing seamless steel pipes, be sure to pay attention to maintaining the finish of the processing surface, otherwise it will affect the use of seamless steel pipes. Polishing can be done by grinding or polishing.

Controlling the processing temperature: When processing seamless steel pipes, temperature control is crucial. Excessive temperature can cause deformation or damage to the steel pipe. Therefore, the machine should be stopped in time during the processing to cool the steel pipe to keep the processing temperature stable.

Specification

Seamless pipe according to GB/T8162-87

4.1. Specifications: The outer diameter of the hot-rolled tube is 32-630mm. Wall thickness 2.5 ~ 75mm. Cold-rolled (cold-drawn) tube outer diameter 5 ~ 200mm. Wall thickness 2.5 ~ 12mm.

4.2. Appearance quality: There must be no cracks, folds, rolling folds, delamination, hairlines and scarring defects on the inner and outer surfaces of steel pipes. These defects should be completely removed, and the wall thickness and outer diameter must not exceed the negative deviation after removal.

4.3. Both ends of the steel pipe should be cut at right angles, and the burrs should be removed. Steel pipes with a wall thickness greater than 20mm are allowed to be cut by gas cutting and hot sawing. It is not necessary to cut the head after the agreement between the supply and demand parties.

4.4. Refer to GB3639-83 for "Surface Quality" of cold-drawn or cold-rolled precision seamless steel pipes.
